The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified its nationwide mobilization drive ahead of the 2027 general elections, as prominent party leaders converged on Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, February 13, 2026
for a high-level strategic stakeholders’ meeting.

Among notable figures at the meeting were Aisha Ibrahim Adoke and Hon. David Itopa, popularly known as “History,” alongside other key party stakeholders, signaling what political analysts describe as a renewed and coordinated effort to reposition the party as a formidable opposition force.

The meeting, convened by national political leader Hajia Mariam Ibrahim Salihu, brought together ADC members from all eleven wards of Adavi LGA. The gathering, which held between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at her residence along Hajia Ladi Street in Nagazi pUvete, attracted a diverse cross-section of party faithful — men and women, youths and elders — who declared their commitment to the party’s vision.

The ADC, described by supporters as a viable opposition platform, is ramping up consultations and grassroots engagements across states as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 polls.

Political analysts note that the move comes at a time when state, local government, and national actors are beginning early alignments in preparation for the next electoral cycle.

Kogi State ADC leaders said they are fully aligned with the national movement aimed at what they termed the democratic rescue of Nigeria from economic instability and insecurity.

The meeting opened with prayers led by Hon. Haruna Badanga, who sought divine guidance and progress for the party and its supporters.
In her address, Hajia Mariam Ibrahim Salihu emphasized unity, peace, and inclusiveness as pillars for the party’s success. She described the ADC as a party built on fresh policy directions focused on the welfare of ordinary Nigerians rather than elite interests.

According to her, the party was established by leaders committed to correcting systemic anomalies and promoting social justice, particularly for the underprivileged.

The Stakeholders meeting received commendation from party leaders working to strengthen the ADC structure in Kogi State, including Engr. Dr. Sanni Uhuotu; Hon. David Itopa; Aisha Ibrahim Adoke (AIA ) an aspirant for the House of Representatives, Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency; Hon. Abdulhameed Lawal Amewuru, an aspirant for the House of Representatives, Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency; and several other stakeholders across Okene and adjoining local government areas.

Stakeholders at the event consistently stressed the importance of internal cohesion and grassroots mobilization, urging members to actively promote the party’s policies and programmes as the 2027 elections approach.

The Adavi meeting marks one of several strategic engagements by the ADC in recent weeks, reflecting what party insiders describe as a structured buildup toward mounting a competitive challenge in the next general elections.
