Nigeria’s foremost energy therapist and humanitarian, Chief Dr. Iwowarri Berian James, has called on Nigerians and policymakers to embrace energy therapy as a critical pathway to healing trauma, restoring emotional health and reducing the nation’s growing health and human capital crisis.
Speaking during activities marking his 70th birthday and 21 years of pioneering energy therapy in Nigeria, Dr. James emphasized that healing must begin from the emotional and energetic level if the nation is to thrive.
“We cannot live and live well when we are burdened by traumatic experiences,” he said. “Research has shown that over 80 to 85 percent of physical health challenges have their roots in emotional imbalance. When emotional health is resolved, the body follows.”
“Energy therapy is not by mouth, it is by practice”One of the most emotional moments of the event came when a longtime disciple testified publicly:
“This is the third year I have not been sick. Energy therapy is not by mouth, it is by practice. I practice energy therapy every day. If you want to feel good, if you want joy, if you want happiness — come to energy therapy.”
The speaker pledged loyalty to Dr. James’ vision, describing him as a mentor and life model, adding:“I am growing up. I will grow like you, Chief.”Brain drain, trauma and governance
Addressing journalists, Dr. James linked Nigeria’s medical brain drain to unresolved trauma, poor policy orientation and lack of human-centered governance.
“Many of our professionals no longer trust the system. If the environment is right, people will not leave. Policies must be formulated with people at heart. We must care about human beings.”
He revealed that he declined offers to relocate to Cameroon and Rwanda, choosing instead to remain in Nigeria despite challenges.
“Nigeria has enormous growth potential, but we cannot grow with the same mindset. Behavioral change, mind transformation and character change are essential — and they cannot happen without energy therapy.”Call for national conference, funding support
Dr. James announced plans for a National Energy Therapy Conference, stressing that funding has remained his greatest challenge.
“For 21 years, I have funded this work alone — my time, my resources, my energy. What I do is transformational. Medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, police, military, and policymakers must learn this healing process.”
He added that with institutional buy-in, Nigeria could drastically reduce medical tourism and healthcare expenditure.Tributes pour in
