The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has issued a strong public disclaimer warning Nigerians against fraudulent individuals falsely claiming to offer contracts on behalf of the Commission.

In a statement released by the Commission’s Head of Corporate Communication and Media, Eniola Akinkuotu, the regulatory body raised concerns over the growing activities of scammers who allegedly use name-dropping tactics and misinformation on social media platforms to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
According to the Commission, these individuals are not affiliated with the NUPRC and are solely motivated by the intent to extort money from their victims. The agency warned perpetrators to immediately desist from such criminal acts.

The Commission emphasized that all its contract and procurement processes are conducted transparently and in strict compliance with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act and other relevant regulations.
NUPRC further cautioned that any individual who chooses to transact with unauthorized third parties in a bid to secure undue advantage within the Commission does so entirely at their own risk.

For verified information regarding procurement opportunities and official tenders, the Commission advised the public to visit its official website at www.nuprc.gov.ng or consult national newspapers where legitimate bids are advertised.
