Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face tournament hosts Morocco in a mouth-watering Africa Cup of Nations semi-final after receiving a major financial boost from billionaire industrialist Abdul Samad Rabiu following their quarter-final triumph.

The Chairman and Founder of BUA Group has pledged more than $1.5 million in performance-based incentives to the Super Eagles after their commanding 2–0 victory over Algeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

In a statement shared Saturday on his official X account, Rabiu hailed the team’s performance and announced a substantial reward package aimed at motivating the players ahead of the decisive stages of the tournament.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria,” Rabiu wrote. “You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.”

According to the pledge, the players will receive $500,000 if they defeat Morocco in the semi-final, with an additional $50,000 awarded for every goal scored. Should Nigeria go on to lift the AFCON trophy, Rabiu promised a further $1 million, plus $100,000 per goal scored in the final.
He closed his message with a patriotic rallying cry:
“Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward. Keep making Nigeria proud.”
Nigeria booked their place in the semi-finals with a confident display against Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech, reinforcing their status as one of the tournament’s most consistent sides.

The Super Eagles will now take on host nation Morocco in what is expected to be one of the tournament’s most intense fixtures. The semi-final showdown is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with kick-off at 9:00 p.m. local time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

With national pride, a place in the final, and millions of dollars on the line, Nigeria’s clash with Morocco is shaping up to be one of AFCON 2025’s defining moments.
