The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja, with the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, describing the facility as its new “Noah’s Ark” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The unveiling, held on Monday in the Jabi area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), marks a significant step in the party’s efforts to strengthen its organisational structure and establish a permanent administrative base as preparations for the forthcoming elections gather momentum.
The unveiling followed an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which brought together key leaders to deliberate on organisational matters and the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the event, Dickson congratulated members and supporters on the acquisition, describing the new secretariat as a unifying centre that would provide a befitting home for the party’s growing membership.
He referred to the facility as the NDC’s newly acquired “Noah’s Ark,” a description underscoring its importance as a rallying point for members and supporters as the party pursues its political ambitions.
The new secretariat is expected to serve as the NDC’s national administrative headquarters and a strategic centre for coordinating its activities, strengthening communication among state chapters and mobilising supporters across the country.
It is also expected to play a central role in organising the party’s presidential campaign and coordinating other electoral activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration attracted the party’s National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; Dickson; and Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the National Assembly.
Also in attendance was the NDC’s Rivers State governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, alongside other party leaders, members and supporters.
The acquisition provides the party with a central location in Abuja for administrative coordination, policy discussions, membership engagement and the management of its expanding political structures.
The development comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the NDC seeking to consolidate its national presence and position itself as an alternative political platform for Nigerians.
The party has projected itself as an option for citizens seeking alternatives to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while working to strengthen its structures and broaden its reach across the country.
With the new secretariat, the NDC is expected to enhance coordination between its national leadership and state chapters while providing a permanent base for its political and campaign activities.
The inauguration underscores the party’s determination to consolidate its organisational presence in the nation’s capital and establish a stronger foundation for its participation in the 2027 general elections.
