The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Omede, has called on Nigerians—particularly residents and party supporters in the area—to participate massively in the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise.
Omede made the appeal on Saturday, describing the e-registration initiative as a critical step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and repositioning it for future political engagements.
He urged both new and existing members to take advantage of the digital registration process, noting that it provides an opportunity for supporters to reaffirm their loyalty and demonstrate that the PDP remains a formidable political force in Nigeria.
“Let us take advantage of the e-registration to tell Nigerians that PDP is still the party to beat. We are ready to take power back to the people,” he said.
The PDP chairman also addressed concerns about the party’s internal stability, cautioning members against being misled by speculations that recent disagreements had weakened the party.
According to him, although the PDP experienced internal challenges, such issues were temporary and have not diminished its strength, particularly at the grassroots level.
“People should not be deceived by the noise going around that the PDP is not on ground because of the little internal crisis we had. We are back and stronger,” Omede stated.
Reaffirming the party’s influence in Dekina, he emphasized the long-standing political alignment between the people and the PDP.
“Dekina Local Government is PDP, and PDP is Dekina Local Government,” he added.
Omede further called on party faithful, youths, women, and stakeholders across the local government to fully participate in the exercise, stressing that a robust membership database would enhance the party’s readiness for future elections.
The e-registration drive, he said, is part of broader efforts by the PDP to consolidate its support base and strengthen its organizational structure nationwide.
