The Federal Government has directed the immediate opening of all sections of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road to ease the movement of travelers during the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
The directive followed the declaration of Wednesday and Thursday, May 27 and 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid al-Adha festivities.
According to a statement issued on Monday, the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON, instructed the contractor handling the road project, Infiouest Nigeria Limited, to ensure unrestricted access along the highway to facilitate smoother and safer journeys for commuters traveling during the festive period.
The Minister also confirmed that an earlier accident recorded along the route had been completely cleared, restoring normal traffic flow.
To further guarantee safety and orderliness, security agencies have been deployed to strategic points along the highway to monitor activities and protect road users throughout the celebration period.
The Federal Government urged motorists to cooperate with traffic officials and drive responsibly while traveling for the Sallah festivities.
