A new wave of hope has begun in the Galadimawa community of Abuja as Regy & Henry Amazing Grace Foundation (RHAGF) in partnership with NMEC, SOOWER, Mental health For Youth initiative, NACTAL, officially commenced a three-week intensive training program aimed at empowering vulnerable and at-risk populations.

The initiative, titled “Literacy Through Vocational and Psychosocial Support Intervention,” kicked off on April 7 and is scheduled to run through April 21.

It combines basic literacy education with hands-on vocational training and psychosocial support, offering participants a holistic pathway toward self-reliance and improved well-being.

According to organizers, the program is part of RHAGF’s broader “Train the Trainers” strategy, which focuses on equipping selected individuals with skills they can, in turn, pass on to others within their communities. This multiplication model has already been implemented in several underserved areas and slums, with promising outcomes.

Foundation National Coordinator, Dr. Regina Duru, expressed optimism about the long-term impact of the intervention, emphasizing that empowering individuals at the grassroots level is key to sustainable community development.

They noted that the initiative is especially designed to uplift those most at risk, providing them with tools to break cycles of poverty and social exclusion.

RHAGF Known for its humanitarian services and family economic empowerment for self-reliance also called on stakeholders, partners, and the general public to support the initiative, highlighting that increased backing would significantly expand its reach and effectiveness.

As the program unfolds in Galadimawa, many residents are hopeful that this effort will mark the beginning of lasting change and brighter opportunities for the community’s most vulnerable members.

Soower, NDLEA and NMEC, Daniel Daruwana Foundation, in partnership with RHAGF intends to establish a Vocational and literacy centre at the end of the program.
