The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course, outlining key dates and safety guidelines for prospective corps members across the country.

According to the scheme’s management, the three-week orientation exercise will be conducted simultaneously in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

The programme is scheduled to begin with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and will close at midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony for participants mobilized for the service year is also slated for Friday, April 24.

The orientation course will officially conclude on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, marking the end of the initial phase of the national service programme.
In its advisory, NYSC management urged all mobilized graduates to ensure safe travel to their respective orientation camps. The scheme reiterated its longstanding warning against night journeys, emphasizing the importance of personal safety.

Prospective corps members were advised to halt their trips by 6:00 p.m. and seek accommodation at designated safe locations such as corps members’ lodges, military formations, police stations, or traditional rulers’ palaces before continuing their journeys the following day.

The statement was signed by Caroline Embu, Director of Information and Public Relations for the NYSC.
