The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on corps members and staff across the country to uphold the values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

In a goodwill message released to mark the end of Ramadan, the NYSC leadership emphasized that Eid-el-Fitr symbolizes gratitude, peace, and selflessness—principles that align with the core mandate of the scheme.

The Director-General urged corps members to reflect these virtues in their daily activities, stressing the importance of commitment to national unity and mutual respect despite Nigeria’s diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.

“Our collective efforts are essential for fostering a more peaceful, cohesive, and prosperous Nigeria,” the statement read.
The message further encouraged all NYSC personnel to remain dedicated to selfless service, noting that their contributions are vital to nation-building.

The Director-General concluded by wishing corps members and staff renewed strength, joy, and fulfillment during the festive season, reaffirming the scheme’s enduring slogan: “Nigeria is ours; Nigeria we serve.”

The statement was signed by Caroline Embu, Director of Information and Public Relations, and ended with the traditional greeting, “Barka da Sallah.”
