In a bold move to strengthen economic inclusion and social dignity for marginalized women, the Regy & Henry Amazing Grace Foundation (RHAGF) has unveiled a renewed empowerment initiative targeted at women living in slum communities, including sex workers, as part of activities marking this year’s International Women’s Day. Come March 8, 2026.
For years, the foundation has remained at the forefront of promoting economic stability among Nigerian women through structured empowerment programs. Its latest outreach, themed “Give to Gain,” which coincided with this year’s international women’s day focuses on uplifting women in underserved slum areas through skills acquisition training, financial assistance, and psychosocial support.
Restoring hope and dignity.
According to the foundation, several women in sex slum communities have already benefited from rehabilitation programs designed to provide psychological support and vocational training. The initiative aims to transition beneficiaries into sustainable livelihoods, reducing vulnerability while promoting independence.
“Empowering the marginalized, embracing dignity, and fostering inclusivity is at the heart of our mission,” Dr. Duru Regina, National Coordinator – RHAGF stated. “Every woman deserves respect, opportunities, and a chance to thrive.”
As part of the International Women’s Day commemoration, the foundation announced that participating women will receive hands-on vocational training alongside financial grants to help them establish small businesses. The program is designed not only to equip beneficiaries with practical skills but also to provide immediate economic relief.
Dr. Duru Regina, National Coordinator, RHAGF emphasized that its presence in slum communities serves as a strong statement against societal stigma often attached to marginalized women. By fostering acceptance and inclusion, the organization seeks to challenge harmful stereotypes and promote equal opportunities.
RHAGF Key pillars of the initiative include:
Breaking Stigma: Promoting acceptance and reshaping societal perceptions.
Equal Opportunities: Delivering skill acquisition and economic empowerment programs.
Community Engagement: Partnering with local leaders to ensure long-term sustainability.
Dignity and Respect: Reinforcing the inherent worth and potential of every woman.
As the world set to celebrate International Women’s Day, RHAGF’s initiative stands as a reminder that true empowerment begins with inclusion. Through sustained community engagement and targeted economic support, the foundation hopes to create lasting change — transforming lives, restoring dignity, and building stronger communities from the grassroots up.
To reach out to more Slum women well-being and welfare, the organization is open for financial support to widen its outreach to Nigerian women in needs through the following channels.
