Osara, Kogi State (ANNTV) — The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) in Osara, Kogi State, has expelled two students over allegations of homosexual practices and rusticated four others for their involvement in fighting and violent conduct, according to university authorities.

In a statement issued by the institution, and obtained by Africa News Nation -(ANNTV), the university said the disciplinary measures followed investigations and recommendations by its disciplinary committee, which found the students guilty of violating the institution’s code of conduct.
University officials said the two expelled students were sanctioned over allegations of engaging in same-sex conduct, while four other students received rustication after being found culpable of fighting and acts described by the institution as violent behavior.
ANNTV gathered that the university said the disciplinary actions were approved by its management in accordance with its regulations governing student conduct, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining discipline, order and an environment conducive to learning.

The identities of the affected students were exclusively gathered by Africa News Nation – ANNTV, namely; Onumuko Hamza Adagiri of Biology department and AbdulAzeez Lukman Eneji of Mining department were expelled from the University for homosexuality and the university did disclose the duration of the rustication imposed on the four students, namely; Simbiat BabamuHaruna,Salami Zainab, Favour Akowe, and Sakura Bukola, they are rusticated for a session from the University for fighting.
The announcement comes as Nigerian universities continue to enforce institutional codes of conduct through disciplinary panels, with sanctions ranging from suspension and rustication to outright expulsion for violations of university regulations.
Nigeria’s legal framework criminalizes same-sex relationships, and universities often incorporate provisions in their student handbooks requiring compliance with institutional rules and the country’s laws.
University authorities urged students to uphold the institution’s values, obey campus regulations and conduct themselves in ways that promote peace, mutual respect and academic excellence.
The disciplinary action has drawn attention within the university community, highlighting the continuing role of higher education institutions in enforcing campus regulations while balancing issues of student welfare, discipline and institutional governance.
