The nationwide ward and local government congress of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was conducted peacefully on Thursday in Okehi, with stakeholders commending the orderly and rancor-free process.

Speaking shortly after monitoring activities at the congress venue, the Adavi/Okehi House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Dr. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke (AIA), praised the smooth conduct of the exercise. She noted that the process aligns with the constitution of the ADC, which she described as a party rooted in fairness, equity, and justice.

Dr. Adoke congratulated party stakeholders and executives on the successful affirmation process and urged them to remain committed to the party’s core values. She also called on party faithful to intensify grassroots engagement across Adavi/Okehi, encouraging them to spread the message of “Arise and Shine Nigeria” to every corner of the constituency.

Expressing confidence in the party’s prospects, she described the ADC as “the party to beat” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adoke further assured members that the national leadership, under David Mark and the National Working Committee (NWC), is working diligently to resolve internal challenges, which she attributed to interference from opposition parties.

Also speaking, Chairman of the ADC Congress Committee, Hon. Usman Zubair Oricha, confirmed that the exercise was peaceful and met expectations. He commended the party’s leadership for delivering a credible process.

In a similar vein, the State Organizing Secretary, Umar Bashir, said opposition criticism of the party stems from fear of its growing influence.

He maintained that the ADC remains committed to rescuing Nigeria from underdevelopment, insecurity, and ineffective governance.

The Okehi ADC Chairman, Suberu Abdulaziz Onuyi, described the party as a beacon of hope for the people, expressing optimism that voters would reject the current administration in future elections due to economic hardship and policy challenges.

He applauded the peaceful conduct of the congress and reiterated confidence in the party’s chances in 2027.

Stakeholders at the congress venue say the successful and orderly conduct of the ADC congress in Okehi signals renewed momentum for the party and offers hope for Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
