In a show of unity and organizational strength ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming general elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has successfully concluded a peaceful national convention, ushering in a new era of leadership for the party.
The convention, held Tuesday at the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja, saw the emergence of former Senate President Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, alongside other members of the National Working Committee (NWC). Party observers described the process as orderly and consensus-driven, signaling renewed cohesion within ADC ranks.
Reacting to the development, Adavi /Okehi, House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Dr. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke commended the party’s leadership for conducting what she called a “peaceful and credible” convention despite challenges leading up to the event.
In a congratulatory statement, Adoke praised Senator David Mark’s emergence as a defining moment for the party, expressing confidence in his leadership capacity and long-standing experience in governance.
She noted that their emergence reflects the trust placed in him by party members and supporters nationwide.
According to her, the new leadership represents an opportunity for the ADC to reposition itself as a viable political alternative in Nigeria’s evolving democratic landscape.
She emphasized that at a time when many Nigerians are seeking credible Party and true leadership with clear direction, the ADC now has a chance to rebuild confidence and strengthen its internal structures.
Adoke further expressed optimism that under Senator Mark’s leadership, the ADC would overcome internal challenges, expand its support base, and present a unified front in future elections.
She called on the new leadership team to remain bold, inclusive, and strategic in navigating the country’s complex political environment.
Reaffirming her commitment to the party’s vision, Adoke pledged continued support for efforts aimed at building a stronger, people-focused political platform.
Adoke also offered prayers for wisdom, resilience, and foresight for the new leadership as they guide the ADC into what she described as a critical phase of growth and national relevance.
