As the political weather gathered clouds a major strategic consultation ahead of the 2027 general elections continued across the country, prominent figures of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) gathered in Abuja to fine-tune plans aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and expanding support for the presidential ambition of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
The high-level meeting took place at the Maitama residence of Shehu Abubakar Atiku, who hosted the Okehi-Adavi House of Representatives aspirant in Kogi State, Hon. Adams Mustapha Ojenya, alongside influential ADC chieftain, and political mother, Hajiya Maryam Ibrahim Salihu Adoke.
Discussions reportedly focused on party unity, grassroots mobilization, and strategic political coordination ahead of the next general elections, with emphasis on consolidating ADC’s growing influence across Kogi Central and other parts of the country.
Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Adams Mustapha Ojenya declared that the ADC continues to gain significant popularity in Kogi Central, attributing the party’s growing acceptance to the political influence and leadership qualities of Hajiya Maryam Adoke.
He described the ADC stalwart as a “virtuous mother, dependable political leader, and unifying force,” noting that her grassroots-driven leadership style has continued to inspire young people and women across the region.
Ojenya also reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and pledged full support toward ensuring the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the ADC presidential candidate and eventual winner of the 2027 presidential election.
In her remarks, Hajiya Maryam Adoke stressed the importance of unity, peace, and cooperation among party members.
She called on women and youths to remain committed to the collective goal of strengthening the ADC and positioning the party for victory at the polls.
Responding, Shehu Abubakar Atiku commended the delegation for their dedication and unwavering support for the party’s vision.

He particularly praised Hajiya Maryam Adoke for her role in mentoring young politicians and promoting inclusive political participation.
He further assured stakeholders that the party would continue engaging youths, community leaders, and support groups nationwide in order to deepen voter awareness, political participation, and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
