….Adavi/Okehi House of Representatives Hopeful Urges Citizens to Defend Democracy Through Responsible Voting

By| Goodluck E.Adubazi, Abuja

House of Representatives hopeful for the Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency, Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke (AIA), has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, describing June 12 as a historic symbol of national unity, electoral integrity, and the collective will of the people.

In her Democracy Day message, Adoke paid tribute to the significance of June 12, widely regarded as the day that produced one of the freest and fairest elections in Nigeria’s political history and which has since become a national symbol of democratic struggle and achievement.

In a statement on Friday to her citizens, she emphasized that strong nations are built on credible electoral systems characterized by transparency, honesty, accountability, and public trust.

According to her, effective and responsive leadership remains essential to sustaining democratic governance and national development.

“Today, as we celebrate freedom and unity, we must also reflect on our future.

The greatness of Adavi/Okehi depends on visionary leadership and a democratic culture that places competence, accountability, and conscience above religion, tribe, or ethnicity,” she stated.

The aspiring legislator noted that the spirit of June 12 remains a powerful lesson for Nigerians, recalling how voters united beyond ethnic and religious differences to support a common democratic cause. She called on citizens to uphold those values as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Adoke pledged that, if elected to represent Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, she would work to ensure that democracy delivers meaningful benefits to constituents through responsive representation and people-centered governance.

“I will ensure that the spirit of June 12 reflects the true democracy we are yearning for. Your democracy, our democracy, will work for you and for our constituency if given the opportunity to serve,” she said.

She further expressed confidence in the future of the constituency and the nation, stressing that democratic participation remains the foundation for progress and development.

“With your support, we remain committed to delivering the best democracy Adavi/Okehi deserves. Adavi/Okehi will rise, and Nigeria will win again,” she added.

Looking ahead to the next electoral cycle, Adoke urged eligible voters to recognize the power of their ballots, reminding citizens that every vote plays a critical role in shaping the nation’s future.

“The beauty of democracy is that it gives citizens the opportunity to elect leaders who will deliver good governance and improve the lives of the people, while also providing the means to remove leaders who fail in their responsibilities.

That is what we celebrate today, and that is what is expected of all Nigerians as we approach the 2027 general elections.”

She concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration while reaffirming her commitment to democratic ideals and accountable leadership.

“Every vote matters, and every vote helps secure our future.” Hon.Aisha Ibrahim Adoke -AIA.

“It takes Adavi/Okehi visionary leader to defend the democracy that will transform the lives of its Citizens.
