Women in leadership have continued to earn recognition for their contributions to democratic development, inclusive governance, and grassroots mobilization across the country.
This was further underscored with the emergence of Hon. Hajiya Bilikisu M. Onusagba as the Kogi State Women Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Chairperson of the Forum of State Women Leaders.
Reacting to her appointment, the Adavi/Okehi House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke (PhD), popularly known as AIA, congratulated Hon. Onusagba on her new role, describing the appointment as a testament to her dedication, leadership qualities, and commitment to advancing the cause of women in politics.
In a congratulatory message, Aisha Adoke stated that Hon. Onusagba’s emergence clearly demonstrates that women entrusted with positions of authority often leave enduring and impactful legacies through service, dedication, and purposeful leadership.
She noted that the appointment was well deserved and expressed confidence in Hon. Onusagba’s ability to provide effective leadership for women within the party while promoting greater participation of women in the democratic process.
Aisha Adoke further wished the ADC Women Leader a successful, healthy, and productive tenure in office, expressing optimism
that her leadership would bring progress and strengthen the role of women in Kogi State politics.
She also urged women across the state to continue supporting initiatives that promote inclusive governance and greater representation of women in leadership positions.
