A coalition of community groups and political stakeholders in Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency has formally appealed to Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Adoke – AIA to bring her experience in public service to bear in future political representation, describing the moment as a turning point for the constituency.
In a public letter titled “A Message of Hope,” addressed to the people of Adavi/Okehi and directed to Adoke—whom the group referred to as a “proud daughter of the constituency”—the writers said early political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections have begun, creating what they described as an opportunity to redefine the area’s political and developmental direction.
The letter, written separately and jointly endorsed by Godwin Onimisi and Haruna, emphasized the need for unity, inclusiveness and purposeful collaboration across gender, religion and party lines.
“The time to redefine our future beckons gradually,” the letter stated. “Our desire for effective dividends of democracy is gaining momentum, and we must come together to build the inclusive and prosperous society we desire.”
The group stressed that political participation should prioritize good governance and meaningful representation, arguing that democracy must be felt in tangible ways by the people.
“Our society must feel and touch the essence of representative democracy,” the statement read. “Every voice must count, and every view must be respected.”
Special attention was given to youth and women, with the writers calling for a political culture that nurtures talent rather than suppresses it.
“We must avoid politics that seek to extinguish great minds,” they wrote, advocating what they described as inclusive leadership that allows individuals to realize their full potential without intimidation or exclusion.
The letter praised Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Adoke’s record in public service, citing projects and institutional reform initiatives previously associated with her tenure.
The group said her family’s long-standing reputation for public service and community values positions her as a potential catalyst for political transformation in the constituency.
“If she answers the call,” the writers said, “her leadership could shape the future politics of Adavi/Okehi and provide development templates for others to follow.”
Concluding the message, the group declared that the constituency stands at the threshold of change.
“The time to open a new chapter is now,” the letter said. “May God help us.”
Political observers say the appeal reflects growing grassroots activity in Adavi/Okehi as communities begin to position themselves ahead of the next general election cycle.
