…Yahaya Ibrahim Adoke Backs Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke’s 2027 House of Representatives Ambition, Says Women Are Shaping Good Governance

A renowned geologist, and highly respected figure, Dr. Yahaya Ibrahim Adoke, has thrown his weight behind the aspiration of Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke, describing women in leadership as agents of purposeful governance, grassroots development, and social transformation.
Speaking on Friday at his residence during a courtesy visit by his junior sister, Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke, popularly known as AIA, Yahaya Adoke gave his blessings after she formally presented her nomination forms for the Okehi/Adavi House of Representatives race under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to him, the growing participation of women in politics and governance remains critical to addressing the nation’s worsening poverty situation and leadership challenges, especially in Northern Nigeria.
He noted that Nigeria’s alarming poverty index requires leaders with vision, compassion, and practical solutions, stressing that Aisha Ibrahim Adoke possesses the experience and exposure needed to make meaningful contributions to the development of the Okehi/Adavi Federal Constituency.
“Aisha Ibrahim Adoke will be among women ready to shape how things are done in terms of good governance”, Yahaya Ibrahim assured.
The poverty index is disturbing, especially in the North, and we need leaders with clear vision and purposeful leadership, like ‘Aisha’ to tackle the trend,” he stated.
Yahaya Adoke further praised Aisha’s grassroots impact during her tenure at Kogi State Investment and Property Limited, saying her commitment to community development and empowerment had already distinguished her as a leader with a difference.
He emphasized that with over 130 million Nigerians reportedly living below the poverty line, there is an urgent need for creative and innovative minds capable of bringing positive change to society.
“We need people who can create change and make a difference from what we have had before. Aisha has shown capacity and compassion, and I believe she will greatly impact her constituents if given the opportunity,” he added.
Drawing comparisons with notable female political leaders, Yahaya Adoke referenced the achievements of Natasha Akpoti, noting that her performance in office has demonstrated the growing effectiveness of women in leadership positions.
“At least we have seen a woman doing purposeful things for the people. Natasha Akpoti has made her mark within a short period. That is motivating and encouraging other women like Aisha to step forward and even do better,” he said.
Hon. Aisha Ibrahim Adoke officially picked up her nomination forms on Thursday at the ADC National Headquarters in Abuja, signaling her formal entry into the race to represent Okehi/Adavi Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber in 2027.
Running on the vision mantra, “Creating Wealth, Building Communities,” Aisha pledged to deliver impactful, people-oriented representation anchored on economic empowerment, community growth, and inclusive development.
Widely regarded as an accomplished international business investor and administrator, Aisha Ibrahim Adoke has served on several boards and earned recognition for her contributions while serving at Kogi State Investment and Property Limited, where her developmental initiatives reportedly impacted communities across the state.
Political analysts and Stakeholders say her entrance reflects the increasing momentum behind women’s participation in leadership and governance — a development many believe should not only continue but receive stronger support across all levels of society.
