The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., has said that the values and discipline he imbibed at Nagarta College continue to guide him in his national assignment of transforming Nigeria’s road infrastructure.

Goronyo made this known on Sunday, January 18, 2026, while attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National Association of Nagarta Old Boys (NOBA) at Nagarta College, Sokoto.
An alumnus of the institution and Grand Patron of NOBA, the Minister described the event as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the growth of his alma mater. He thanked Almighty Allah for the opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and fellow old boys, noting that Nagarta College played a defining role in shaping his character, leadership values, and public service journey.

Speaking at the gathering, Goronyo recalled his formative years at the college and stated that the spirit of discipline, service, and excellence instilled in him continues to influence his work as Minister of State for Works under the administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
“As an old boy of Nagarta College, I carry the spirit and values of this great institution into my national responsibility of transforming Nigeria’s road infrastructure,” he said.

The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry of Works to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing the delivery of quality road networks to enhance national unity, economic growth, and sustainable development across the country.

Goronyo also restated his dedication to national development through the execution of critical infrastructure projects, while pledging continued support to Nagarta College and similar educational institutions.
He further disclosed that during his tenure as Minister of Water Resources, he facilitated the provision of over 100 solar-powered boreholes across various communities and institutions nationwide, with Nagarta College listed among the beneficiaries.

The Minister added that several large-scale infrastructure projects are currently ongoing across Nigeria, driven by the leadership and intervention of President Tinubu.

Commending the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, Goronyo praised the visible infrastructural improvements within Nagarta College, particularly in road construction, building renovations, and environmental upgrades, describing them as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to educational development.
Following the AGM, the Minister toured key facilities within the school, including classrooms and students’ hostels, and visited his former hostel, where he reflected on his student days.

In a show of support, Goronyo announced a donation of ₦2.5 million to NOBA to support development projects at Nagarta College, in addition to other ongoing assistance initiatives.
He concluded by offering prayers for sustained peace, progress, and development of Nagarta College, Sokoto State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
