The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has emerged as one of the top-performing public institutions in the country, recording an impressive 82.65 per cent score in the 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) conducted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The assessment, carried out between 19 May and 20 June 2025, placed NiMet 10th out of 344 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) nationwide, earning the Agency a rating of “Substantial Compliance.” The result was formally communicated to NiMet in a letter dated 29 December 2025.

NiMet also posted a strong showing on the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) Effectiveness Index (AEI), ranking 11th out of 356 MDAs with a score of 82.50 per cent, a performance classified as “Very Effective.”

The ICPC’s evaluation focused on critical governance pillars, including management culture and structure, financial management systems, administrative processes, and the effectiveness of Anti-Corruption and Transparency Units.

The outcome underscores NiMet’s robust compliance framework, sound governance practices, and efficient operational systems.

In the letter signed by the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, the Commission commended NiMet for the structures and processes it has established to promote efficiency and integrity.

The Agency’s management was also encouraged to sustain the standards achieved to ensure consistent performance and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Reaffirming its commitment to national integrity standards, NiMet said it will continue to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and professionalism, while further strengthening its institutional processes in the discharge of its mandate.
