On January 1, 2026
In his annual New Year prophecy, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has delivered a powerful message to millions of believers around the world.

Speaking to the largest congregation in his church, Pastor Adeboye outlined what he believes God has revealed about the upcoming year—2026—categorizing his prophecy into three segments: general, Nigeria-specific, and international predictions.
General Prophecy for 2026

Pastor Adeboye emphasized that 2026 will be a year of increased breakthroughs and fewer failures. He shared that while the winds of change began blowing in 2024, they will now intensify this year, signaling a period of greater opportunities.

According to the prophecy, this year will surpass 2025 in terms of success and testimony, with many people expressing gratitude with the phrase, “God remembered me at last.”
“The winds have been blowing since 2024, but this year, the winds will blow more strongly than before,” Pastor Adeboye stated.

He also noted that 2026 will be marked by an overwhelming sense of victory, as God is preparing His people for a year of significant achievement.

Nigeria Prophecy: ‘Reverse Japa’

Turning to his prophecy for Nigeria, Pastor Adeboye shared a two-part message, though he admitted uncertainty about revealing the second part at this time. “I need to pray more before I share it,” he said, but promised that it would be made public by Friday of this week if God grants him clarity.

However, he was confident in revealing the first part of the prophecy, which spoke of positive developments for the country. Pastor Adeboye predicted a noticeable reduction in hunger and hardship in Nigeria. He also foresaw a flourishing of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) this year, sparking economic growth.

In a bold statement, the pastor prophesied a significant change for Nigerians living abroad. “This year, we will witness a ‘Reverse Japa’,” he said, referring to the phenomenon of Nigerians seeking better opportunities abroad.

According to the prophecy, many Nigerians who had previously left the country in search of greener pastures will now return home, drawn by improved opportunities and a renewed sense of hope.
International Prophecy: Less Major Change

On the international front, Pastor Adeboye predicted a relatively quieter year, compared to 2025.

He forecasted that the chance of major global events would be lower this year, but he did note that there would be a couple of major hurricanes. The weather patterns, he said, would largely mirror those of the previous year, with only slight variations.

RCCG’s Message to Congregations
Finally, Pastor Adeboye announced that the full details of his prophecy would be shared with RCCG parish pastors, who in turn will communicate the message through their house fellowship leaders.

This is part of the church’s strategy to ensure that the prophecy reaches every corner of its global congregation, he said.

As millions of believers around the world prepare for the year ahead, Pastor Adeboye’s words have sparked a wave of anticipation and hope for 2026. Many are eagerly awaiting the fulfillment of this vision, especially the “Reverse Japa” and the blossoming of Nigeria’s economy.
