Cost-of-Living Crisis Sparks Protests in Belgium, Italy, Portugal and France.
Two tourists were seen dragging their suitcases through smoke, debris and chaotic crowds on a Paris street while trying to locate their Airbnb, in a video posted on October 18 amid reports of widespread unrest in France.
The disturbances reportedly followed nationwide protests over rising fuel prices, the cost of living and failing public services, with authorities reporting about 550,000 demonstrators, approximately 1,800 arrests and injuries among police officers and firefighters.

Shops were looted, vehicles burned and buildings set ablaze in several cities, including Paris and Limoges.
The unrest has renewed concerns about public safety, policing and France’s persistent social and economic challenges.
