•North Central Group Pledges Peaceful Campaign, Backs Tinubu’s Second-Term Bid

The Team Gbaja, North Central Zone, has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged to mobilise support for the administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made the declaration on Friday at a peaceful sensitisation and mobilisation rally held at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Headquarters in Abuja.
The rally also featured commendation for the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, whose commitment to public service, according to the group, continues to inspire millions of Nigerians.
Speaking at the event, the National Spokesperson of Team Gbaja, Tabuko Kennedy, said the group’s decision to support the Renewed Hope Agenda was based on its belief in democracy, peaceful political participation and the need to sustain what it described as the progress recorded under the Tinubu administration.
Kennedy said political leadership should be assessed through measurable actions and visible results, noting that while Nigerians might hold divergent opinions about the administration, supporters of the Renewed Hope Agenda could point to several developments as evidence of progress.
He cited the reported rescue of abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire School in Oyo State through coordinated multi-agency security operations, as well as the commencement of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, which he described as one of the country’s major infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving connectivity, trade and economic growth.
The spokesperson also highlighted the implementation of the student loan scheme, which he said had expanded access to higher education for many Nigerian students.
According to him, increased investment in critical road infrastructure across the six geopolitical zones, including the rehabilitation and construction of major federal highways, was another area the group considered significant.
Kennedy further pointed to reforms in the oil and gas sector, saying supporters of the administration believed the reforms had contributed to increased local refining capacity through the rehabilitation of government-owned refineries and the emergence of additional refining capacity.
He also commended what he described as efforts to strengthen national security through improved coordination among the armed forces, police, intelligence agencies and other security institutions in tackling terrorism, banditry and other crimes.
“These are some of the reasons why Nigerians believe the Renewed Hope Agenda deserves continued support,” Kennedy said, stressing that the group’s mobilisation was aimed at promoting continuity under President Tinubu and supporting Gbajabiamila’s leadership and public service efforts.
Addressing members and supporters of Team Gbaja, Kennedy urged them to remain disciplined, respectful and law-abiding as they return to their respective communities.
He called on them to continue mobilising peacefully, encourage voter participation and civic engagement, and promote constructive dialogue among Nigerians.
“As we return to our various communities, continue to mobilise peacefully, encouraging voters’ participation and civic engagement. Let us continue to work for a Nigeria that is peaceful, united and prosperous,” he said.
The group subsequently pledged its support for President Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office, urging its members and supporters across the North Central region to sustain peaceful grassroots mobilisation in support of the administration.
